September 7 was nicely cooler and overcast ... a great day to start the process of removing invasive species such as buckthorn from the Meadow. A crew of 8 worked on the project ... getting rid of trees/shrubs and also figuring out the most efficient way of handling the project. We still have small trees that were recently planted in what is now The Meadow which we will move to new locations outside the meadow area. It was interesting to see the extent that the space 'opened up' after just a couple of hours of work. It's not easy work but it is necessary and wit will make a very real difference.
